Bulgarian violinist Svetlin Rusev, winner of the first Sendai International Music Competition in 2001 and recipient of the Bach Prize, the French Ambassador's Prize, and the Audience Prize. Rusev, who has also won prizes at international competitions in Indianapolis, Melbourne, and Long=Thibault, and as of 2018 is concertmaster of the French Radio Philharmonic Orchestra and professor at the Conservatoire National de Paris, will perform Sibelius and his native Bulgarian composer Pancho Vladigerov's (1899-1978) Sibelius and his native Bulgarian composer Pancho Vladigerov (1899-1978). Although both were composed at the beginning of the 20th century, the two works, with their contrasting elements, are compared to fire (Vladigerov) and ice (Sibelius) to express their striking contrasts. In addition to the "Fidelity CD" mastered for hi-fi audio, this album includes two bonus discs, the "Mobility CD" mastered for computer and car audio (identical content). Tokyo M-Plus
