In addition to original organ pieces by Bach and Dupré, the album includes arrangements of works that are far removed from the typical image of the organ—such as Bernstein’s “Candide” Overture—which she invariably performs at the start of her concerts—as well as Scriabin’s Piano Sonata No. 4, among others. These arrangements of works far removed from the typical image of the organ proved that she is, quite literally, a “virtuoso.” Coinciding with the recording of this album, *If You Could Read My Mind*, Carpenter completed the “Touring Organ”—a portable digital organ he had been conceptualizing for many years and developed in collaboration with the American organ company Marshall & Ogletree. This documentary centers on the story behind the creation of the “Touring Organ”—a portable digital organ that Cameron Carpenter developed with years of passion and dedication, aiming to revolutionize organ music. It also offers a glimpse into the true nature of Cameron Carpenter through his boyhood in Pennsylvania, his student days at Juilliard, and his current life in Berlin—where he has settled after receiving widespread acclaim.
