The long-awaited debut album by singer/songwriter Avi Kaplan, a former member of Pentatonix! Comprised of 11 original songs, his debut album is an acoustic rocker that adds to his musical background of country, blues, soul, and gospel music. From haunting falsetto to deep bass, Avi Kaplan's voice is at the core of the album, which is about matters of the heart, truth, and the pursuit of morality. Several of the songs on the album were written shortly after Kaplan left Pentatonix in 2017, but the majority were written specifically for the new album. Many of the new songs express the heartache of Kaplan's excessive touring that separated him from his family and then continued throughout the pandemic. He says, "I spent a lot of time touring away from my family, and I realized I was losing my relationship with them. The song "On My Way" on the album is a letter to each of my family members. I have a younger brother and sister, and a mother and father, and I wrote specific poems for each of them. The songs that are closest to my heart are not always heard by the world, but when they are, it's a beautiful thing," commented Avi Kaplan.
