Here comes vocalist Kurt Elling's eleventh album and fifth CONCORD album. The common theme of the album is "passions" (passion), which is an irrepressible force that shakes our souls, and Elling, who has toured all over the world, expresses the various passions he has encountered around the world through his filter. The theme is "passions" (passion), which is the irrepressible power to shake our souls. This is an adventurous vocal work that allows you to feel that everyone is the same, even if they are from different races.In addition to his touring quartet Gary Versace (key), John McLean (g), Clark Sommers (b), Kendrick Scott (ds), guests Arturo Sandoval (tp), Sara Gazarek (vo), Till Bronner (tp), Richard Galliano (accordion), Scottish National Jazz Orchestra and its leader Tommy Smith (tp), and WDR Big Band from Germany.The songs we are featuring are "Where The Streets Have No Name," by U2, "Bonita Cuba," written by Arturo Sandoval for his friends in Cuba, "Loch Tay Boat Song," which Elling learned while studying at the University of Edinburgh, and "After The Door," (original: "Another Life,") a cover of Metheny's "Where Love Is," a very romantic poem by James Joyce. "Where Love Is," a very romantic song with verses by James Joyce, "After The Door," a cover of Metheny (the original: "Another Life,"), "La Vie En Rose," a chanson classic, "Richard Galliano Billie," an original dedicated to Gabily Holliday, and many other songs in different languages and tones.
