Madeline Peyroux, hailed as the "21st Century Billie Holiday" with an 18-year career, finally releases her first best album. Featuring not only tracks recorded for her label Rounder, but also Atlantic and Decca/Emarcy recordings, this is an all-time best! Furthermore, it includes the previously unreleased Warren Givon cover "Keep Me in Your Heart" (used in the 2011 US film 'Union Square') for the first time. Madeleine was discovered by Atlantic Records A&R Yves Beauvais at a New York club shortly after turning 20. Beauvais stated, "Those were the most exciting, instinctively moving minutes of my musical life," immediately securing a contract and co-producing her 1996 debut album "Dreamland." Her husky voice immediately captivated audiences, and she cemented her popularity among a wide range of music fans with her 2004 release "Careless Love," which featured covers of songs by Elliott Smith and Leonard Cowen. She then went on to make four albums with Larry Klein (Joni Mitchell, Tracy Chapman, Herbie Hancock), and continues to this day. Born in the United States, Madeleine's career began busking on the streets of Paris as a teenager, and she still loves busking and does it occasionally!
