The 25th anniversary edition of R.E.M.'s 10th studio album, "New Adventures in Hi-Fi," was released in 1996, and was R.E.M.'s last studio recording with founding member Bill Berry, who left the band amicably the following year. The platinum-selling title features the singles "Electrolite," "E-Bow the Letter" (featuring Patti Smith), and "Bittersweet Me," and is R.E.M.'s longest studio effort at 65 minutes in total R.E.M.'s longest studio album at 65 minutes.The album reached #1 on the UK Albums Chart and #2 on the U.S. Albums Chart when it was released, and has also gained a cult following, with the band members themselves citing it as one of the best albums in R.E.M.'s recorded catalog. This 2CD version consists of disc 1 of remastered album material and disc 2 of B-sides and rarities, and includes new liner notes by all band members and Scott Litt, and a booklet with archival photos.
