The latest release from Lukas Nelson & Promise of the Real, who took full charge of the music for the 2019 film "A Star Is Born" starring Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper, is now available. After spending the better part of a socially disadvantaged year working on new songs, Lucas and the band arrived at RCA's historic Studio A on Nashville's famed Music Row in late 2020 with songs they believed in and slowly recorded over the course of three weeks. Given everything they have experienced together, they created it with the conviction that their time was now: six full-length albums, headlining tours, major festival appearances, extensive international tours and recordings with Neil Young, Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper's acclaimed contribution to the film "A Star Is Born," the band instinctively wanted to reach for something higher, so they hired renowned producer Dave Cobb (Chris Stapleton, Jason Isbell, Brandi Carlisle) was hired.His collaborative and spontaneous approach helps some of Nashville's most talented and thriving artists maximize their unique magic. The work is a journey through matters of the heart, alienation, spiritualism, and simple joy, reflecting in many ways the collective consciousness of the time in which it was created. It is both timeless and timely. The album's opener, "We'll Be Alright," is a warm and uplifting embrace, a necessary reminder that "we can hold on in the midst of struggle and strife / Despite all the darkness, we'll be okay."
