This is the second volume of the special trio "Trilogy," in which Chick Corea, a master pianist whose creativity and energetic activities are still undiminished and immensely popular, has teamed up with Christian McBride (bass) and Brian Braid (drums), two of the greatest players of our time. Trilogy" sold over 5,000 copies in Japan and won two Grammy Awards for "Best Jazz Instrumental Album" and "Best Improvised Jazz Solo" at the 57th Grammy Awards in the U.S. The first album, "Trilogy" was released in 2013. Selected best takes from live recordings from his world tours (2010, 2012, 2016). In addition to Chick's signature songs "La Fiesta" and "500 Miles High," and "Now He Sings, Now He Sobs," which Chick himself performed again after 50 years since the original recording in 1968, the album includes jazz standards and classic covers of Jazzman originals.Chick describes the trio formation as "the classic jazz formation and the basis of almost all jazz bands from Ellington to Miles and Coltrane. This album is another great performance that seems to challenge the limitless possibilities of the trio format.
