The world-shaking samurai trumpeter, Takuya Kuroda's first release under Concord. Pulsating beats and overflowing passion. A self-produced masterpiece crafted with his entire being. In 2014, this jazz trumpeter made a spectacular debut as the first Japanese artist on US Blue Note, with the album 'Rising Sun' produced by Jose James. Since then, based in New York, he has continued his global activities. Beyond his own projects, he has collaborated internationally with DJ Premier and Antibalas, and in Japan with JUJU and cero, freely crossing genres and steadily advancing his career. Now, shifting his label to Concord on America's West Coast, he presents his long-awaited second album after two and a half years. Self-produced over a year and a half with his regular band members, it's a bold, dynamic work packed with rhythmic approaches and diverse soundscapes. Alongside original tracks, it includes a cover of Donald Byrd's classic "Think Twice" – known for covers by artists like Erykah Badu and J Dilla – performed in collaboration with the popular Afrobeat band Antibalas.Authentic Afrobeat feels so good! The innovative jacket design is by my friend, London-based Moroccan designer Hassan Hajjaj.
