The Velvet Underground's female member and model Nico's two solo albums are being reissued on vinyl and CD! Christa Paffgen, a.k.a. Nico, is a German singer-songwriter, actress, fashion model, and member of the legendary New York rock band, The Velvet Underground. Her second and third solo albums, 1968's "The Marble Index" and 1970's "Desertshore," have been reissued and will be released by Domino on March 29! The two long out-of-print albums have been reissued on vinyl and CD, featuring mastered recordings from the original tapes. The Marble Index" and "Desertshore" were co-produced by John Cale, a former bandmate of Velvet Underground, and had a profound influence on the goth rock movement.Iconic American rock journalist Lester Bangs wrote of "The Marble Index" that it is "an avant-garde classic and a masterpiece of serious music in the second half of the 20th century," and The New Yorker magazine recently hailed both albums as "a gritty miracle of will and a solemn miracle of invention. Both CDs and LPs also include previously unreleased photos of Nico taken by Guy Webster. The content of the CD and LP differ.
