Proud Scottish singer/songwriter James Yorkston releases his latest album! Nina Persson of The Cardigans, Peter Moren of Peter Bjorn and John, and others join him on this latest release! A heartwarming album filled with gems of melody! James Yorkston from Scotland, known for his collaborations with Four Tet and Alexis Taylor (Hot Chip), has released his 16th album for Domino, and his third recorded in Stockholm with the members of The Second Hand Orchestra. This is his 16th release for Domino and his third recorded in Stockholm with members of The Second Hand Orchestra, "Songs for Nina and Johanna"! Nina Persson (The Cardigans), who performed with the band on their last album "The Great White Sea Eagle" to critical acclaim, is featured on this album as well, and Johanna Soderberg (First Aid Kit) also contributes vocals to this release. Johanna Soderberg (First Aid Kit) also contributes vocals. The album is composed of songs about family, love, and being a parent, spinning gentle, delicate melodies that sometimes soar and sometimes glide. And the album features two of Sweden's leading female vocalists side by side. Nina and Johanna complement each other and do not compete with each other. And I tried to ...... as much as possible to stay out of their way and give them space to interpret the songs according to their own sensibilities." Recording began in January 2024 at Studio Rymden in Stockholm. The Second Hand Orchestra's leader, Karl Jonas Winqvist, was unable to participate in most of the recording due to a sudden illness, and it was agreed that the album would not bear the band's name. It was agreed that this album would not bear the band's name.Still, many of the band's members and associates participate, including guitarist Peter Moren (Peter Bjorn and John), violinist Ullis Gyllenberg, and the fiery saxophonist Lina Langendorf. Drummer Lars Skoglund, who also participated on the previous album, is also back.
