An album featuring a wide variety of sounds and musical styles [Overview] ◆ A unique album that features everything from the sounds of water and scrap metal to Beethoven’s “Pastoral Symphony.” The album concludes on an uplifting note, with the final track titled after a line from Rilke’s poem: “Is it a falcon, a storm, or a great song?” ◆ Recorded by percussionist Alexei Gerasimets and the NDR Radio Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Gordon Hamilton. 【Track Listing】 ◆ “Piazonore” is a piece in which Piazzolla’s “Libertango” was improvised to such an extent that it transformed into an entirely different composition. ◆ “Water Cycle” is an intriguing piece that depicts the transformation of the element of water—from solid to liquid to gas—through actual sounds. ◆ “Flower in the Wind” is performed while maintaining a delicate, fragile sensation, as if catching a butterfly. ◆ “Black Mountain” depicts the collision of tonal chords, creating repulsion, tension, and mutual attraction. ◆ Toru Takemitsu’s “Night” features the marimba and flute dancing delicately, engaging in a fleeting yet poetic dialogue. ◆ “Leviathan” uses discarded objects such as oil drums as percussion instruments to raise environmental issues, yet it ends on an optimistic note. 【Performer】 ◆German-born Alexei Gerasimes’ performance transcends mere percussive sounds, creating a lyricism akin to that of a melodic instrument and producing complex textures. 【Recording】 ◆Recorded in May 2025 at the NDR Concert Hall in Hamburg, northern Germany. State-of-the-art digital recording technology was employed to capture everything from the subtle attack of the percussion to the roar of the full orchestra without distortion. 【Product Specifications】 ◆180-gram heavyweight vinyl.
