Description:
The borderline of Russian music by Rösel, who also won a prize at the International Tchaikovsky Competition. A masterful performance full of flavor! High-quality sound from the heyday of the analog recording era. World's first SACD release! Mastered only in the analog domain and directly converted to DSD! This is the 19th SACD hybrid version of the latest reissue project of ETERNA's original analog tapes in Japan. The main work is Prokofiev's Piano Concerto No. 2 recorded with Bongartz & Dresden Philharmonic Orchestra in 1969, and Stravinsky's 1978 recording with Kegel in the margin. Peter Rösel (1945.2.2-) won the 6th prize at the 3rd International Tchaikovsky Competition in 1966 and the 2nd prize at the Montreal International Piano Competition in 1968. In 1968, he won the second prize at the Montreal International Piano Competition. In 2007, he visited Japan for the first time in 30 years, and since then he has frequently visited Japan, and as you know, he has gained a lot of support as a pianist with whom he has a close relationship. Born in Dresden, Lösel is a pianist of the Doyle school and has performed a lot of Beethoven's works, especially in Japan, and is highly acclaimed mainly for Austro-German music. He is highly regarded as a pianist with a deep knowledge of Russian music as well. Tchaikovsky's solid formative skills and heavy hitting of the keys do not emphasize only the technically brilliant aspects of his music, but also bring out the beauty of the melodic lines and the clear, flowing quality of the music. However, as you continue to listen to it, you will be gradually attracted to its musicality. This performance has probably not received due recognition in Japan for a long time. You will notice that this is a highly insightful performance that does not conform to any tendency to be fast and dynamic. This is also true of Prokofiev and Stravinsky, and the style of performance cannot be described simply as Germanic. The high sound quality of the recording has made Lösel's style even more visible. I look forward to a reappraisal. (1/2)
