[Sophie Delvaux bassoon] Sophie Delvaux has been principal bassoonist of the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra and the Vienna State Opera Orchestra since 2015. Previously, she was principal contrabassoonist of the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra, and in 2021 she and Selim Mazari released an album of works for bassoon and piano entitled "impressions" on Berlin Classics, which was well received by the press and won the German Record Critics' Award The album was highly acclaimed by the press and won the German Record Critics Award. With "impressions," Zabine Weber of Deutschland Radio reported that (she) "elevates the bassoon to a noble status," and Holger Arnold wrote in Vono Forme magazine that "it is hard to imagine a more beautiful business card. As an ambassador for the instrument, she is committed to expanding the bassoon's repertoire by rediscovering works and commissioning new ones.Since 2014, he has been certified as a "Püchner Artist" by the woodwind instrument manufacturer Püchner, and is passionate about bringing his instrument to a wider audience. In April 2022, his latest world premiere recording of works by Hummel, Mozart, and Vanhal's bassoon concerto will be released on the Berliner Klassik label (recorded with the Mozarteum Orchestra Salzburg). Sophie Delvaux has won numerous prestigious competitions, including the ARD Munich International Music Competition (2013) and the Beethoven Ring Bonn (2014). As a soloist, he has performed with renowned orchestras such as the Vienna Philharmonic, Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra, Stuttgart Radio Symphony Orchestra, Munich Chamber Orchestra, Vienna Chamber Orchestra, Konzerthausorchester Berlin, and Orchestre National de Lyon. His solo repertoire includes works by Vivaldi, Saint-Saens, Jolivet, Strauss, Mozart, Hummel, Haydn, and Paganini. (1/2)
