Bruckner conductor and "Bruckner player" Schaller Performs the Eighth Symphony on the organ! The sound of the famous Cavaillé-Coll instrument, built in the same year as the work, is also remarkable. Schaller, who has been recording Bruckner symphonies in various versions, has recorded the Eighth Symphony in his own arrangement for solo organ. Schaller, who is well versed in the work, has arranged it in his own version for solo organ. The organ used is an instrument made by Cavaillé-Coll (1811-1899) at the Saint-Ouen church in Rouen. Cavaillé-Coll was a famous organ builder who lived at the same time as Bruckner, and it is recorded that Bruckner, a master organist, was greatly impressed by the excellence of his instrument when he went to France in 1869 on a concert tour. The Saint-Ouen church organ chosen for this recording was built in 1890. This is the same year Bruckner wrote his Eighth Symphony. The richness of the sound recorded here, as if to convey the musical views of the time to the present day, may be said to have been maximized by playing Bruckner. PROFIL
