This is a series of bargain omnibus albums mainly from the German Hensler label. This 6-CD set includes some of the best Christmas-related works, including some lesser-known ones! Heinrich von Herzogenberg (1843-1900) was a German Romantic composer known for his close friendship with Brahms, with whom he exchanged many letters. Although he wrote works in a wide range of genres throughout his life, after the death of his beloved wife, he became increasingly impressed by Protestant religious music. His oratorio "The Birth of Christ," composed around 1894, is a magnificent Christmas oratorio with soloists, chorus, and orchestra, in which the soloists and chorus sing the Nativity of the Savior in high spirits to the majestic accompaniment of pipe organ and orchestra.In addition, you can enjoy oratorios, concertos, and instrumental works by Brunckhorst, Telemann, Schütz, Saint-Saens, Link, J.S.
