17-year-old prodigy Katya Møller is here! Challenging the works of Lehra Auerbach on her mother's piano Russian pianist Kseniya Noshkova, who actively performs and records Auerbach's works, took on the challenge of performing a collection of works for violin and piano with her beloved 17-year-old daughter Katja Möller. Katya Möller, a child prodigy who gave a recital at the age of 6 and performed with an orchestra at 12, has won top prizes in competitions in the U.S. since around age 15 and is a National Young Artists Fund scholarship recipient. She is also fluent in Russian and communicates with Auerbach in Russian, making her a newcomer to keep an eye on. Leila Auerbach has a strong interest in the form of the "24 Preludes," and has created works with the same name for solo piano, violin and piano, viola and piano, and cello and piano. The Violin and Piano piece was written in 1999 and dedicated to Wajim Gruzman. Gruzman's recording is also on the BIS label, but it is noteworthy that the first recordings of No. 8 and the postscript to No. 22 are made here. Another first recording is Osokolki.Inspired by Gidon Kremer's autobiography, this is the first CD recording of this important work, which was premiered by Kremer and Auerbach in 2004.
