Description:
The promising young Ivan Pochekin performs two great Russian concertos with the best backing Ivan Pochekin, violinist, was born in Moscow in 1987. His father is a violin maker, his mother a violin teacher, and his younger brother Mikhail is also a violinist. He took on the challenge of performing the two great Russian violin concertos, Tchaikovsky and Glazunov. Both works were written for the great violinist Lepold Auer, who refused to dedicate and premiere the former, while the latter was accepted, making for a unique coupling. Both feature not only highly technical violins, but also a full orchestra, as in a symphony. It is also fascinating that Pletnyov and the Russian National Orchestra are backing them. They have already released masterpieces with David Garrett and Yuchin Tseng for Tchaikovsky and Gil Shaham for Glazunov, and they provide superb support that is truly in hand. King International
