Berliner Barock Solisten
Description:
Includes world premiere recordings! Fischer-Dieskau's last disciple, Benjamin Apple, records Bach family cantatas with the Berlin Baroque Soloists under Goebel! German baritone Benjamin Apple, known as Fischer-Dieskau's last disciple, makes his first appearance on the Hensler label with the Berlin Baroque Soloists! In this album titled "Bach Family Cantatas," he sings solo in cantatas composed by the Bach family, including the world premiere recording. Benjamin Apple was born in Regensburg in 1982. In 2009, he met Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau at the Schubertiade in Schwarzenberg, where he performed with Fischer-Dieskau. He was the last student of Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau at his home in Berlin until two weeks before Fischer-Dieskau's death. This album features three cantatas from the Bach family, Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach's (1714-1788) cantata "I am full of myself" (world premiere recording), Johann Christoph Friedrich Bach's (1732-1795) cantata "Pygmalion", and Cantata No. 82 "I am full" by Johann Sebastian Bach (1685-1750). Apple, with her soft sound from low to high notes, sings with her soul! In addition, the two Sinfonias for strings and bass that are recorded between the three cantatas are both world premiere recordings. Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach's (?) Sinfonia "Bach in Berlin" is also recorded for the first time in the world. The other is a Sinfonia in F major by Wilhelm Friedemann Bach (1710-1784) in B-flat major. Performances are by the Berlin Baroque Soloists, featuring the world's finest musicians, and conducted by Reinhard Goebel.Goebel also recorded Handel's Six Ensemble Concertos, Op. 3 (HC 19031) with the same ensemble to great acclaim. The orchestra's new interpretative approach to period-instrument playing made an impact, and since then, Goebel has been captivating audiences with his innovative performances. Here is a remarkable album by the best combination of the two! King International
