A box set featuring works by Schubert, Brahms, and Haydn—recorded in the 1980s by German choral maestro Friedrich Bernius with his flagship ensemble, the Stuttgart Chamber Choir—is now available. Given that these recordings (original Intercode masters) are currently difficult to obtain, this re-release is most welcome. Bernius founded the Stuttgart Chamber Choir in 1968 and went on to perform numerous choral works with the ensemble. He also conducted orchestras such as the Stuttgart Radio Symphony Orchestra and the North German Radio Symphony Orchestra, establishing himself as a leading figure in the German music scene.
