The diverse group includes Statkowski, who was the composition teacher of Hollywood movie music great Victor Young; Mwinarski, the father-in-law of great pianist Artur Rubinstein and the first principal conductor of the Warsaw Philharmonic; and Paderewski, a great pianist who became the first prime minister of Poland. All are fascinating displays of violin virtuosity. Piotr Pravnar was born in 1974 and is a first prize winner of the 10th Wieniawski International Competition in 1991.
