This Korean recording by the European Jazz Trio features classic songs spanning diverse genres—from jazz, classical, and pop to folk—performed in an elegant piano trio format. Produced by the Korean audiophile label "AudioguyRecords," this unique project originated when the trio was invited to Seoul for a memorial concert honoring the late Lee Jeong-il, a local luminary. The album captures that special session in high-fidelity sound. Recorded by engineer Choi Jeong-hun using top-of-the-line DPA and Neumann microphones and the ultra-high-resolution DXD format, the trio’s acoustic sound is captured with astonishing clarity. Kicking off with Bernstein’s musical number “Maria,” the album features a wide-ranging selection of songs, from timeless standards like “When I Fell in Love” and “Autumn Leaves” to The Beatles’ “Lady Madonna,” as well as the iconic Korean folk song “Sora, Sora, Purun Sora (O Pine, O Pine, O Blue Pine),” performed as a tribute.
