THEE IMAGE, the funky rock group from mid-70s Miami led by MIKE PINERA—also known for his work with IRON BUTTERFLY, BLUES IMAGE, CACTUS, RAMATAM, and others—released this 1975 second album following their 1974 debut. Featuring the mellow free soul classic "ALONE WITH YOU," where the relentless guitar cutting is pure bliss, the fiery "FAR AWAY PLACES" showcasing passionate shouts, the feel-good shuffle tune "I.O.U.'S," the break-laden funk rock "GOOD TO YOU," the soulful ballad "RAPTURE OF THE DEEP," and more. Keyboardist DUANE HITCHINGS, who also played with BUDDY MILES EXPRESS, and drummer DONNY VOSBURGH, active in the 80s with melodic hard rock/AOR band FORTRESS, form a perfect triangle. Together they weave a powerful, bluesy, and somewhat psychedelic vibe, making this album a true masterpiece.
