1973 Meditation-style Female Folk Treasures is now available in analog reissue! At the height of the hippie culture in the mid-1960s, Jayne Roman-Pitt, a 16-year-old girl influenced by Joni Mitchell and Judy Collins, picked up a guitar. She began playing at a club near the University of Michigan, became immersed in the hippie life, and traveled to Israel and then Greece, opening her eyes to a new world. It was the world of meditation, in which many musicians, including the Beatles, were deeply involved at the time. Upon her return, she found that the sad love songs and politically-themed songs she had written up to that point did not appeal to her. She decided to sing about the meaning of life and inner tranquility that emanated from the world of meditation and began composing new songs. The result was her debut album, THIS BEAUTIFUL FEELING, released in 1973 on the small California label Unity Records. With its lustrous, plaintive vocals and acoustic guitar playing, the album displays an outstanding quality in the vein of many minor folk albums.However, despite its high quality, it has been quietly buried as an expensive and rare album that is only talked about among collectors. Now, at last, it is being brought to the ears of a wide range of listeners! The contents are wonderful! BLACK VINYL.
