Pervo Järvi and the Orchestre de Paris perform Fauré's "Requiem" 2011 live on Blu-ray. The music is the same as on the previously released CD, but this is a live recording of the concert held on February 10, 2011, at the same time as the CD. The CD already shows the excellent performance of the main piece, "Requiem," but even in the "Requiem," which is supposed to be a treasure trove of gentle and beautiful music, the tension to the point of devilishness is sometimes shocking, and the full orchestra and large chorus weave together a richly shaded and profound music that has a unique charm. The full orchestra and the large chorus create a shaded and profound music with a unique charm.As for the soloist in the "Requiem," the CD also featured the countertenor Jaroussky, but here we have the Israeli soprano Chen Reis, who has also attracted attention for her role as Zoffy in the Bavarian State Opera's "Rosenkavalier" and whose most famous role is Gilda in "Rigoletto," in the "Requiem. The Israeli soprano Chen Reyes, who is known for her beautiful, clean and penetrating voice in the role of Gilda in "Rigoletto," will leave a lasting impression on the audience. The Salle Pleyel, the home of the Paris Symphony Orchestra, is a historic hall that was originally opened in 1839, where Fauré himself gave the premiere of his own work at the time. The matured sound is excellent, and the surround sound reproduction is very effective in providing the soft and enveloping sensation that choral music is supposed to have. King International
