DVD 2 features "Martha Argerich's Musical Evenings," directed by Georges Gachot. Argerich is interviewed and talks about herself. The film has won several awards in Europe and the U.S. It is impressively composed with thought-provoking remarks about composers, performance, and chamber music, interspersed with images of the past and scenes of performances.It contains many stories that those interested in Argerich's music should not miss, such as his childhood memories of fear before performing in Beethoven's concertos, his respect for Gulda, his sense of humor in Bach and early Beethoven works, his empathy for Schumann and Liszt, and his solitude in solo performances. DVDs 3 and 4 feature Beethoven by Daniel Barenboim, who recorded his fifth Beethoven sonata in 2020, but the performances here are from the 1980s, recorded live at concerts Barenboim gave in four of Vienna's historic palaces.
