In March of 2020, during the COVID-19 lockdown, Ehnes launched his own online concert project, titled "Recitals from Home," in which he sequentially released six unaccompanied violin works by Bach and Ysaÿe.Following the release of Ysaye's Sonatas for Solo Violin (PONYX4198/ONYX4198), which was selected as a "Special Edition" by Record Art and "Editor's Choice" by Gramophone magazine, Bach's Sonatas and Partitas for Solo Violin are finally available on CD! Speaking of Aenes' Bach unaccompanied recordings, this second recording of the "Scriptures" is a long-awaited release, as the masterpiece (AN28772-3) recorded in 1999-2000 has been hard to find in recent years. Aenes has been performing this masterpiece for many years, and his interpretation has changed over the years. It has been over 20 years since the first recording and is now at its peak. Aenes presents a fine Bach, sensitive and thoughtful, with breathtaking technical skill and great sensitivity, on a Stradivarius "ex-Marsick" made in 1715.With the help of recording professionals and friends from around the world, Aeneas set up the equipment, transformed his living room into a recording studio, and recorded everything early in the morning to avoid noise.
