Born in Tokyo, graduated from Toho Gakuen School of Music, Amsterdam Conservatory, and the Royal College of Music in the UK, and currently resides in the UK. She has been active in Europe giving recitals, music festivals, competition juries, and master classes. ! The album features an ambitious combination of Chopin (Lullaby and Funeral Sonata), a classic piano classic, and Nikolai Kapustin's Piano Sonata No. 1, a fusion of classical and jazz, as well as a new piece by Robert Mitchell, a contemporary British jazz pianist. The program was a sophisticated one, interspersing "Our Hearts Dance the Infinite (With the Blooming of Puya)," a new work by contemporary British jazz pianist Robert Mitchell, and "Enigma," written for Yuki Negishi by British female pianist, writer, teacher and composer Melanie Spanswick.
