Singer Leila Pinheiro and multi-instrumentalist Ricardo Bacelar teamed up to produce the album "Donato" (Donato). It was Hicardo Bacelar who invited Leila to join him in the task of immersing herself in Donato's music. Bacelar, who provided piano sound for the entire album, said, "I wanted to create an album that would bring a new perspective to Donato's work. Leila came to Fortaleza, where Jasmine Studios is located, and on the first day of recording, the two of us immediately blasted two songs, "Lugar Comum (Lugar Comum)" and "A Han (A Ra)". The process of playing and recording together with Leila, who is also a musician, weaving harmonies together was a natural progression. Leila is a precise and demanding artist, both as a singer and pianist, and our communication was smooth.I was aware of the Jasmine Records label, but my honest impression was that it was a very unusual offer. I had recorded a number of Donato's works before then, had performed with him on stage, Donato had participated in my first album released in 1983, and I had participated in his DVD "Donatural (Donatural)". It was not an option for me to make an album dedicated to Donato, who is a great person for me, as I participated in his first album and I also participated in his DVD "Donaturall". When I received the offer from Hicardo, the timing of the release, coinciding with the 90th anniversary of Donato's birth, seemed perfect and also a great challenge for me."
