Description:
The best-selling album "Tchaikovsky Fantasy" by sisters Mari & Momo Kodama is now available in CD format! The album "Tchaikovsky Fantasy" with sisters Mari Kodama & Momo Kodama, world-renowned pianists, released in 2016 as the first Pentatone label production planned by King International, is now available in CD format! This album was the first time that the sisters had performed together on a CD, despite how common it seems. The album, which features a very attractive lineup, has become a best-selling disc on the PENTATONE label and has received very high acclaim both in Japan and abroad. Tchaikovsky's three most popular ballets are performed by some of the greatest composers of all time. The Kodama sisters' performance of the three ballets is a great success, and the duo piano arrangements of the ballets have been performed by some of Tchaikovsky's most popular composers. The Kodama sisters' performance of these works is the ultimate luxury. The Rachmaninoff arrangement of "Sleeping Beauty" and the Debussy arrangement of "Swan Lake" are relatively well-known and recorded, but the Kodama sisters' performance was a world apart. Not only were their performances not at all inferior to those of the original orchestras, but the differences in pianism between Rachmaninoff and Debussy were clearly audible, making for an extremely fulfilling experience. It is intriguing that both were the first work of Rachmaninoff and Debussy. A super treasure is Arensky's arrangement of "The Nutcracker. Arensky is a composer who has been gaining enthusiastic fans in Japan in recent years, but this arrangement was legendary because the score was extremely difficult to obtain. Now, at last, it has been made into a sound.Although a pupil of Rimsky-Korsakov, Arensky was an admirer and strong influence of Tchaikovsky, and since he was essentially a piano composer, it is hard to imagine a more suitable role for him. Arensky arranged the entire "Nutcracker" for four hands, and here he performs the popular suite number and pas de deux (grand adagio). The effect is thrilling as only Arensky, who is well versed in piano duo writing, can produce. In particular, the glamour of the "Waltz of the Flowers" and the swirling sound of the piano groaning at the conclusion of the "Pas de de Deux" could only be performed by a piano duo. The Kodama sisters' performance was stylish and gorgeous. This is the highest level of piano duo performance that I have ever heard. The atmosphere is perfect for the Christmas season and makes a great gift. King International Inc.
