MORTEMIA is the solo project of Morten Veland, a central figure in the Norwegian gothic metal scene known for his work with TRISTANIA and SIRENIA. The project’s debut album, *Misere Mortem*, originally released in 2010, is now receiving a long-awaited reissue—marking its first-ever release on LP. While carrying on the legacy of early SIRENIA—which fused symphonic grandeur with heaviness—this album eschews female vocals to construct a dark soundscape that emphasizes a sense of claustrophobia and gloom. Heavy guitar riffs, ominous choirs, and Veland’s signature deep growls come together to unfold a cold, dense gothic world throughout the entire album.
