A 2025 remastered reissue of Swedish folk metal band OTYG’s second demo, originally recorded in 1996. Representing a significant evolution from their previous demo, *Bertagen*, the songs are tighter, and the melodies have gained clarity and momentum. The violin and female vocals are not mere embellishments but are organically woven into the ensemble, lending depth and nuance to the soundscape. While grounded in folk-derived simple scales and indigenous rhythms, the guitar’s edge and the boldness of the arrangements have increased, clarifying the band’s unique musical language. Toward the end, the tempo slows, creating a ritualistic atmosphere that lingers. The 2025 remaster improves contour and separation from the original tapes, enhancing clarity while retaining the raw character typical of a demo.
