Beautiful "Farewell" spun by Brüttner and Pleyel The second volume of the "Piano Works of the Flemish Romanticism" is now available, realized through the friendship between Shigehiko Kawaguchi and the Studiecentrum voor Vlaamse Muziek (SVM), which continues its activities and research to preserve the music of the Flanders region for future generations. The second volume of the "Piano Works of the Flemish Romanticism" is now available! The new album "Farewell" is a sequel to "By the Light of the Moon", which shed light on the unknown masterpieces of the 19th century Flanders region, and features the gems of Edgar Tinel and Jan Block, two composers from the same region. Not only were Block and Tinel contemporaries, but there are several notable similarities in their careers, including immense popularity in their home countries and international success and renown. Large-scale vocal works, such as Tinel's acclaimed oratorio "St. Francis" and Block's acclaimed opera "The Innkeeper's Princess," dominate their lists, with piano works accounting for only a small portion of their output. However, the romanticism and fantastical worldview that emerges from these gems of piano music is so beautiful that it is hard to believe that they have been hidden in the shadows of history. Shigehiko Kawaguchi, who has had numerous dialogues with many historical keyboard instruments around the world, will take the audience on a journey to the Flemish region of the Romantic era with the Julius Brüttner 1857 and the Playell 1873 fortepianos.
