France (Roberto) Berghout has performed with the Netherlands Chamber Orchestra, the Concertgebouw Orchestra, the Amsterdam Baroque Soloists, and the Combattimento Consort Amsterdam; as a Baroque bassoonist and dulcianist, he has also performed with the 18th Century Orchestra, the Leonhard Consort, La Petite Bande, and Anima Eterna. This renowned Dutch virtuoso, who showcased his magnificent tone in the Vivaldi concerto collection with Peter Darken (Vol. 1: KTC1324 / Vol. 2: KTC1428), performs Mignone’s Brazilian-style waltz—a piece demanding great technical skill—with deep melancholy.
