This album contains Prague music from the Baroque period, recorded in 1996 by Musica Antica Prague from the archives of the Monastery of the Order of the Red Star Cross (formerly Francisco-Claire Monastery) in Prague. While "O Crooks Venerabilis" and "Crooks Tua, Domine" were released in 1997, the remaining five works are now being released on CD for the first time. 15 years from 1982 to 1997, Musica Antica Praha, led by Pavel Krikar, has been working on the early 17th to 18th century The Prague Philharmonic Orchestra, led by Pavel Krikar, was dedicated to reviving and recording Baroque music from the early 17th to the early 18th century. Krikar is a multi-talented musician who played trumpet, piano, and organ, and was bandleader of the Original Prague Syncopated Orchestra, famous for its performances of American jazz and dance music in the 1920s. The natural and free interpretation that can be expressed only by Krikar, who has played a variety of genres, is appealing.
