There is light beyond the deepest darkness--. The Murder Capital, a post-rock quintet from Dublin, has been called "the best new band to come out of Ireland. They have attracted a great deal of attention by reviving their aesthetic worldview and aggressive lyrics in the modern age, and have now completed their long-awaited second album "GIGI'S RECOVERY," which is dominated by a mood and melodies that have grown up musically. Analog copies will be released at the same time. Named by NME magazine as one of the "100 Essential New Artists for 2019" and called "the new best new band to come out of Ireland" by The Irish Times, the five-piece from Dublin, The Murder Capital. Influenced by artists such as Joy Division, New Order, and Echo & The Bunnymen, the band has garnered much attention for their modern revival of their aesthetic worldview and aggressive lyrics, and now they have completed their long-awaited new album. The Murder Capital returned to the scene this July with their new single "Only Good Things. GIGI'S RECOVERY" is their second studio album, their first since their 2019 UK Top 20 album "WHEN I HAVE FEARS".Produced and mixed by John Congleton, known for his work with Modest Mouse and St. Vincent. Compared to their previous album, "When I Have Fears," which captured the band's early days when the members were still in the process of trying to understand each other, both humanly and musically, this album shows that they have grown up a lot. With a greater emphasis on the electric elements than before, "GIGI'S RECOVERY" features a more precise exploration of the industrial elements, and while the bold melodies remain intact, the band boldly pushes their musical territory into new soundscapes. The album, dominated by heavy moods and melancholic melodies, includes the preceding single "Only Good Things," released this summer, as well as "A Thousand Lives," which begins with a rhythm and beat that sounds like rain beating on a window and builds to quiet but lyrical peaks with a fragile balance. Lives," and "Crying," which has a dark, trip-hop feel to it. Since its formation, The Murder Capital has been deeply passionate about causes of social justice, especially socioeconomic injustice and youth mental health in their native Ireland, but their latest album, GIGI'S RECOVERY, is full of positive songs about life after darkness and only good things! They are uncompromising in their evolution, but this has allowed them to stay on track even when they had no idea where they were going. And that is exactly how The Murder Capital ended up with an album that is both completely pure and completely confident in its direction.
