A reissue of Werner Erhard’s seminal recording, *The Music of Bach’s Sons*, by Werner Erhard, who studied Baroque violin technique in Cologne under Franz Josef Meyer and Sigiswald Kuijken, and conducting under Karl-Heinz Breme. Composed during the transition from the Baroque to the Classical period, these pieces—while influenced not only by Bach but also by numerous predecessors such as Telemann—constitute an important body of work that foreshadows a new era. Concerto Köln is a Baroque ensemble founded in 1985, known for its flexible and spontaneous performances without a permanent conductor. Recorded in 1988. (C)RS
