This is a collection of piano works by the contemporary Italian composer Dallapiccola, who, according to WIKI, is "known for his composition of lyric twelve-tone music. He is credited with bringing the twelve-tone technique to Italy for the first time, and this work is more beautiful and easy to listen to than I expected. The nostalgic tone of the "Concerto for Small Pieces" is haunting, and the "Paganini" is even mysterious. Although these works are not yet using the twelve-tone technique, they were certainly quite advanced for their time. The three works that follow sound completely modern, and it is fun to wonder what happened in the last six or seven years. It is fun to imagine what has happened in the last six or seven years. Pianist Pietro Massa's convincing and well-crafted performance is a pleasure to listen to. Naxos Japan
