Chet Baker and Bill Evans were both highly lyrical and introspective players who would have made a great team, but they recorded together only a couple of times. At the time these recordings were made in 1958-59, Chet Baker had not yet been a star for ten years. This 1958 instrumental album represents Baker in an unusual setting, with great jazz musicians with whom he rarely performed or recorded. They are Evans, Herbie Mann, Pepper Adams, and Kenny Burrell.
