Cecil Taylor collaborated with John Coltrane on the album "Stereo Drive" released on United Artists Records in 1959. Drive", released on United Artists Records in 1959, is reissued in 180g vinyl. Bonus tracks include "Jumpin' Punkins" (A.3) and "Like Someone In The bonus tracks are "Jumpin' Punkins" (A.3) and "Like Someone In Love" (B.3) performed by the Coltrane Trio. This is the only album recorded by Cecil Taylor and John Coltrane. Originally, Taylor wanted to use Ted Carson on trumpet. Taylor wanted to use Ted Carson on trumpet, but the recording company insisted on using Kenny Dorham. The story goes that the relationship between Taylor, who favored a very avant-garde approach, and Dorham, who was critical of Taylor's avant-garde tendencies, was strained, but when they finally recorded the album, it turned out to be a good, unique work. The original version has two sides, A and B. The second side has two sides, A and B. The third side has two sides, A and B. The original version contains four songs, including side A and side B.Dorham plays two blues tunes and two standards, with Dorham playing a strict bop, Taylor a fairly free abstract expression, and Coltrane a sound somewhere in between. Dorham plays strict bop, Taylor is quite free in his abstraction, and Coltrane is somewhere in between, resulting in a well-balanced and very attractive album. (From the manufacturer's information)
