Presley and RCA were so impressed by Martin’s stage performance that they dubbed her “The Female Elvis.” When she appeared at an RCA Victor convention in Miami, Florida, Presley presented her with 12 red roses, and Colonel Tom Parker, Elvis’s manager, also offered to manage her, but Martin’s parents declined the offer. Her first and biggest hits were “Drugstore Rock ’n’ Roll” (which sold approximately 750,000 copies) and the equally successful “My Boy Elvis.” This album is a best-of compilation featuring 20 of her hit songs, released on 180g heavyweight vinyl.
