Eudora, a Spanish high quality sound label, presents a collection of Fanny Mendelssohn's piano works, including a world premiere recording by Spanish pianist Paula Rios, in a hybrid SACD and MQA-CD format. A highly acclaimed performer of strong personality, refined technique, and originality, Paula Rios studied with Constantino Perez at the Escuela Superior de Musica de Vigo, where she received degrees in piano and theory with honors and special awards. Fanny Mendelssohn was one of the pioneering female composers of the first half of the 19th century and one of the foremost pianists of her day, composing more than 400 works on her own musical path. The title of this album is a musical adaptation of a Goethe poem, a very spontaneous and experimental work. Paula Rios brings much needed brilliance and sensitivity to this exploration of Fanny Mendelssohn's piano works, including two first recordings.The format is a hybrid of SACD Stereo/Multichannel and MQA-CD, and the CD layer can be played back as a high-resolution sound source by using MQA-compatible equipment.
