Lorenzo Meseguer, a prominent member of the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, performs these little-known masterpieces! A hybrid SACD and MQA-CD release from the Spanish high-fidelity label Eudora. Enjoy high-fidelity recordings of works by female composers—Fanny Mendelssohn (sister of Felix Mendelssohn) and Clara Schumann—as well as rare works by German composer Gustav Jenner, known for being the only student to have officially studied under Brahms. Cellist Lorenzo Meseguer is a member of the Balthasar Neumann Ensemble and the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra. He studied under Iagoba Fanro at the Royal Conservatory of Music in Madrid and under Enrico Bronzi at the Mozarteum University in Salzburg. He later furthered his studies at the Royal Academy of Music in London. He has won first prize at the Leitzen International Competition in Australia and the Porto Glarus International Music Festival, among numerous other awards at various competitions. In addition to performing as a soloist since the age of 12, he is also active in the field of chamber music as a founding member of the Seikiros Quartet. The format is a hybrid of SACD Stereo/Multichannel and MQA-CD; the CD layer can be played back as high-resolution audio using MQA-compatible equipment. Tokyo M Plus
