Description:
A collection of tonos (tono/spanish word for song or melody) and arias by Juan de Navas (1647-1719), who became harpist of the Royal Chapel of Madrid in 1669. Musica Ficta is an ensemble specializing in Latin American and Spanish old music, with tenor (& percussion), recorder, and baroque guitar (& harana) as core members. Based in Colombia, the ensemble has performed throughout South America, as well as in Europe, Singapore, Turkey, and other countries. The ensemble is also active in promoting the spread of its diverse and unknown repertoire, and about half of the pieces on this album were recorded for the first time in the world. Tokyo M-Plus
