Description:
Featuring “O Lord, Joy of All Who Hope”! Gardiner’s Cantata Cycle Advent is a special season that precedes Christmas, the celebration of Christ’s birth. The cantatas written for this season are all rich and profound, featuring a lineup of masterpieces. First and foremost, the highlight is Cantata No. 147, “O Lord, Joy of All Who Hope,” included at the very end of the second disc. With its resplendent fanfare and beautiful choral parts, Gardiner’s conducting and the Monteverdi Choir’s artistry truly shine here. The other pieces, too, are all works brimming with the festive spirit of anticipation for Christ’s birth. This is truly a delightful release. [Comment provided by King International] ---
