He made his Glossa debut with Rameau's "Celebration of the Poet-God Polymny" (GCD 923502), and has brought back to our time the unknown French Baroque with excellent performances of Mondonville's "Grand Motets" (GCD 923508), Mondonville's "Isbe" (GCD 924001), and other unknown French Baroque works The Orfeo Orchestra & Purcell Choir with György Vaszej, a wunderkind of the Hungarian classical music world. Jean-Philippe Rameau's heroic pastoral opera (pastoral elegy) "Nice" is an opera for peace commemorating the Peace of Aachen, the peace treaty of the War of the Austrian Succession signed in 1748. With an outstanding lineup of soloists, including the remarkable French soprano Chantal Santon-Jeffrey, and the refined old music of the Purcell Choir and Orfeo Orchestra, enjoy the cutting edge of Gerges Vachezie's exploration of the French Baroque.
