From the 12th century's Hildegard von Bingen to new works by contemporary composers such as Arvo Pärt, Will Todd, and Anna Klein, who will turn 90 in 2025, the group sings all forms of poetry that have spoken to us for nine centuries. Anna Klein's "The Circle," a poem by Rainer Maria Rilke, was newly commissioned by The Sixteen and is a work that Klein describes as "a journey into a realm where each sound resonates and echoes with the heartbeat of centuries past, inviting the listener into a moment of peace and presence.
