The Sixteen! Bach's "Lutheran Mass Collection" is now available again as a set! The Sixteen, a treasure of the British choral world, was founded by Harry Christophers in 1979, and since then has continued to be one of the world's finest choral ensembles, The Sixteen. Their 2013 Lutheran Mass Collection (COR16115 / COR16120) is now available again as a 2-CD set. Bach's four masses, called "Missa Brevis" or "Lutheran Masses," with only the "Kyrie" and "Gloria," which were the mainstream of Lutheran music. Most of them are based on his own church cantatas, and the "Lutheran Masses," which were created by "re-creating" music of the composer's own choosing, are masterpieces of Bach's church music along with the "Mass in B minor" and the "Passion". The Sixteen's acclaimed performance of J.S. Bach's masterpiece has been revived with the voices of Grace Davidson, Robin Blaise, Eamon Duggan, and other members of the splendid ensemble.Please enjoy their beautiful voices that have not faded away yet.
