Founded by Robert Hollingworth at Oxford University in 1986, and awarded the "Ensemble Award" by the Royal Philharmonic Society in May 2006, the talented British classical music ensemble Lee Fagiolini has released their second album on the Sixteen's own Coro label. This is the second album by Lee Fagiolini, a British ensemble of old music ensemble, which was awarded "Ensemble Award" by the Sixties. This album focuses on John Wilby, a composer from his home country. Although there are not many of Wilby's works in existence, with only 75 songs of only a few minutes in length, the content of these songs is arguably the most representative of British madrigals. The songs "Farewell, My Beloved Amaryllis" and "O Sweet Honey-Sucking Bee" are still sung by many people today. The 75 minutes of this album, which revives old scores and features a superb ensemble, will be a treat for madrigal lovers.Enjoy a wealth of works by John Wilby, one of England's leading madrigal composers.
