Featuring works by Polish Baroque masters Bartłomiej Penkiel (fl. 1633–1670), Grzegorz Gierwaz Gorticki (1665–1734), Marcin Mierczewski (d. 1651), as well as works by Pacelli, Anelio, Bertoluzzi, and Marenzio—Italian composers who served as court musicians to King Sigismund III of Poland (1566–1632). Eamon Duggan, who—alongside soprano Sally Dunkley—has played a key role in historical research and musical analysis, laying the foundation for The Sixteen’s performances.
